"FAIR ISLE" LUCKENBOOTH ~ LUK04

This exquisite finely detailed Luckenbooth is solidly made. In the center it features a Scottish thistle, the emblem of Scotland. On either side there is a heart that interweaves with the one on the opposite side, uniting two as one.
This is a perfect piece to display your Scottish heritage or a lovely gift for your sweetheart.

The Luckenbooth is one of the most romantic Scottish symbols of love, from the 17th century and often given as a token of betrothal, affection and friendship. It is usually in the shape of a heart or two entwined hearts, symbolizing love, with a crown, symbolizing loyalty, topping the heart(s).

"FAIR ISLE"

This Luckenbooth gets its name from a small island located halfway between Orkney and Shetland, "Fair Isle" is one of Britain’s most remote inhabited islands. It may be small – only three miles long and one-and-a-half miles wide – but there is plenty to see and do. "Fair Isle" is a crofting community with a thriving traditional crafts industry, where you can see the island’s craftspeople at work boat-building, spinning, weaving and, of course, knitting.
Fair Isle knitwear originated here and is still the only place in the world producing the genuine article. Fair Isle is internationally renowned for its birds and in particular its seabird colonies.
